SMC Certificate: Advanced Sound Production

Overview

This comprehensive course is a sequel to the Digital Music Production course and it has been designed for learners wanting to further develop their production skills.

During this course, we lay emphasis on signal processing techniques like advance equalization, compression, limiting and effects application. We also take the learners through an in-depth study of mixing and mastering procedures.

Admission Requirements

The following learning is assumed to be in place before enrolling:

  • Grade 11 or Basic Music Production
  • Computer literacy
  • English language (spoken and written)
  • Music aptitude

What is the class schedule?

  • Classes are scheduled 5 days per week (Full Time), and 2 days per week (Part Time), Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday.
  • 10 hours per week of studio lab time will be spent completing hands-on projects.
  • In addition to the regular class schedule, seminars are scheduled on Fridays. Many audio and business related topics are featured. SMC invites industry professionals from all aspects of the music industry to participate and share their knowledge. Educational videos are also featured.
